MACS supporters trip to Malawi
16th August – 1st September 2025

Participants must be over 18 or accompanied by a responsible adult.
All participants must be fit and able to undertake the range of activities planned.

The trip is expected to cost between £2,500 and £3,000 (including economy class flights)
What will the trip include:
Day 1 (Saturday 16th August 2025) – Leave UK
Day 2 - Arrive to Lilongwe, first night in Lilongwe
Day 3 – exchanging of money, buying phone data then heading to Mua Mission for over night stay - understanding Malawi traditions
Day 4 – depart after lunch for Kaphiridzinja Cottage by the lakeshore. Stay for 2 nights.
Day 5 – AM visit Nkope (health centre and CDSS). PM work on projects (e.g. painting, minor repairs, school desk repairs etc)
Day 6 – 12 depart early for Chilema Ecumenical Lay Training Centre, Malosa. This
will be the base for the mainstay to the trip. Potential activities: the John Leake play centre (singing and working with the children), spending time with people on the courses, working on the farm, links with St Luke’s Hospital – possible visits to workers to local nurseries with Primary Health Care Team, visit rural villages on bicycle taxis with MACOBO Malawian volunteers, visit to Zomba Mountain and market (day 8), Church at Malosa (day 9)
Day 13 Depart early for Hippo Lodge to get boat on the River Shire to Mvuu Camp in Liwonde National Safari Park - 24 hours. Game rides and river safaris.
Day 14 Depart Mvuu after lunch and return to Lilongwe
Day 15 Depart Lilongwe Airport for Addis Ababa and then London
Day 16 Arrive home (Monday 1 September 2025)
