MACS Malawi Visit 2010

24th July to 9th August

After the successful visits of the last two years MACS is organising a working visit to Malawi in 2010.

We will follow our proven formula of meeting local people, visiting MACS projects, hands-on work and some time to relax.

We expect the visit to include about 15 people, of all ages and experiences. The cost will be approximately £1450

This year we have organised the visit a little later so that teachers and students can come along during the first weeks of the summer holidays.

We fly from Heathrow on Saturday 24th of July and return on Monday 9th of August.

In previous years travelers have also asked people to sponsor them to raise additional donations for MACS projects. In 2009 we were able to raise and additional £550 per traveler to give to the projects. Because this money is a donation, we are also able to claim Gift Aid.

We will also spend time with the inspiring MACOBO outreach group, working with HIV positive people in their villages, and then go up Zomba mountain for a walk.

To finish off we'll spend a couple of nights with the hippos at Mvuu game reserve on the River Shire. Any additional money raised through sponsorship will go directly to the projects we visit.
