This sturdy looking double classroom block at Chikusa has now been completed and in June 2011 during the Project Officer’s visit, MACS’ Representative Grafiud Tione presented Headmaster Mr Major Mwakascula with the MACS’ blue plaque.

It was particularly pleasing to see desks in the classroom and the walls decorated with ‘expressive arts’

School had closed for the day but there were still lots of happy children around to greet us! The good news is that the government will soon be refurbishing another classroom block from its school maintenance fund! We hope this will mean that children at Chikusa will no longer have to learn under a tree!
