St.Luke’s Hospital recently conducted an initial training of 12 community members from Zumulu, a very remote area of T/A Mposa in Machinga District (from which many obstetric emergencies arise.   Marriage age is very young in this Muslim area and girls are liable to complications at delivery).  These volunteers were trained in Community Family Planning which aims at taking family planning methods to rural communities using the door to door approach.

One volunteer during a role play of giving contraceptive message. One of the villagers asked a question as to why some people are sick after taking contraceptives? The volunteer was answering with emphasis that it is not true that all people on contraceptive fall sick! If anything the client will be referred to Mposa health centre.

One volunteer today was leading the group to  recap  yesterday’s work.   He was emphasising the need to give proper health education and skills in giving health education.

This was to remind the group how to fill the tarry sheet.   It is clear and easy to fill the forms.
